“A Sunday well spent brings a week of content” ๐. Happy Sunday Funday Everyone ๐ค, I hope you guys were able to get some much-needed relaxation, self-care, and mental preparation for the new week ahead. We’re BACK for Day 5 of our New York Craft Cannabis Cup – Judges Edition. As a reminder, I’ll be blind reviewing 16 different strain samples. ย They won’t have any labels so I’ll be going off appearance, aroma, flavor, and effect. ย Since my scores will need to remain secret, I won’t be revealing my favorite strain until after the event. ย Also, there are 16 different strains that I will need to review by September 23rd (judges’ results are due), so I will be reviewing 2 strain samples per day. ๐
Now, let’s pick back up from where we left off yesterday! Today I decided to go with strain samples #11 and #3.๐จ
The first strain that I started off with Today was Sample #11 ๐ –
Appearance – Now this was one gorgeous ass nugget ๐. She had a beautiful manicure/trim, very deep (rich) green color with beautiful orange hairs, you could also see hints of purple peeking out ๐. A very nice coating of trichomes all over this strain sample. She had a spongy feel to her with some slight dryness, however, when I gave her a gentle squeeze there was no crumble๐๐ฝ. Once I ground her up the purple hues came out to play baby ๐๐, I swear the colors on this nugget became more vibrant once I ground her up. Trust me when I tell you even the trichomes were glistening something serious.
Aroma: I wasn’t able to narrow down the scent on this strain sample. I was getting a very faint smell, almost sweet, however, I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Once I ground her up I did get more of a sweet aroma however, it wasn’t very potent.
Flavor: Pretty good on the inhale and exhale, but I still couldn’t narrow down the scent. Since this strain sample had a very faint sweet aroma I decided to smoke one of my joints with my Juicy Jays Cotton Candy rolling papers. It was absolutely delicious ๐. The yummy candy flavor on my lips combined with the sweet smoke was a winning combo.
Effects: I got a pretty good high from this strain sample. The hits were hard, yummy, and smooth๐! I was very relaxed but still able to focus and get some things done. I usually use Sundays to schedule my work week ahead so I’m glad this strain helped me stay focused.
Next up is Sample #3 ๐ –
Appearance – ๐Now, for a strain sample that has my favorite number, I wasn’t too happy! I wasn’t too impressed with the colors or the manicure/trim. The trichomes were giving me more of an amber color as opposed to the glistening white the other strain samples were giving me. On another note, I was happy that the nugget wasn’t dry, it had a nice spongy feel to it. ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Aroma: There was a very very faint smell of pine. Aside from that I really couldn’t narrow down a scent. After I ground her up the aroma was still very faint.
Flavor: ๐ I wasn’t too happy with the taste of this strain sample. It left a very unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth. I’m not sure if I can explain it well, however it felt like after I exhaled there was still smoke lingering in my mouth. Since I wasn’t too happy with the taste I decided to smoke the remaining strain sample with my Juicy Jays Cherry rolling papers. This helped a bit, but there were no major improvements. I tasted the sweet cherry flavor on my lips, however, I still had to deal with the unpleasant aftertaste of the smoke.
Effects: ๐ฏ Despite the taste and appearance, the hits were hard and I did get a decent high. I felt pretty relaxed and a little wavy. It was a decent strain to help wine down my day, I was able to make something to eat and kick my feet up and watch Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
Well, that’s it for Day 5 of my New York Craft Cannabis Cup reviews, make sure you check back tomorrow for my review on my next two strain samples๐. Enjoy your Sunday and make sure you get some self-care in while you prep for the week ahead. I’m off to go record my scores for these two strains have a great one my Canna-Family. ๐
