You know, as I was putting this list together I realized I do not watch comedy shows now as much as I use to growing up. I guess as I’ve gotten older, I gravitated more towards action dramas and crime-related tv shows instead. To be honest, growing I had some pretty amazing comedy shows, Def. Comedy Jam, ComicView, Martin and Married with Children, to name a few, so of course, the bar is set pretty high. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a good comedy series every now and again, however, my standards are pretty high, so it has to be some pretty hilarious sh*t to get my attention every week.

Here are some of my favorite comedy series of all time, I’ve watched at least every season, and/or I’m up to date with the latest episodes.

Family Guy: Hands down one of my favorite comedy series of all time. I can always count on Brian & Stewie and their shenanigans to highlight my day. One of my favorite episodes is when they killed Brian off, and the fans (myself included) raised so much hell on social media that they had to bring him back! 😩.

South Park: Another one of my guilty pleasures, I’ve loved Eric Cartman and the crew from the very first time they graced my little tv screen. I love the fact this show is a cartoon, I’m not sure I could ever deal with the South Park boys growing up. However, I must say I’m loving the fact that Randy Marsh is living one of my dreams and has his own weed farm 😩. Randy and Towelie running Tergridy Farms, definitely has to be one of my highlights when watching this series.

Archer: My man needs no introduction 😩🤣😩, If I was born a man and working as a government spy, then you better believe I would be Archer. This incredible style, his dry-ass humor, his pimpish ways, and of course his super dope Mom (well in my case my Aunt), all remind me of myself. I can’t even state what my favorite episode is because I swear I can go through an entire season cracking up in tears.

Shameless: Well, what can I say about Frank and his ratchet-ass kids! The Gallaghers’ are my favorite reversed Oero family (reversed Oero – white on the outside back on the inside 😩😉). Literally, right before I watch an episode of Shameless I say to myself “let me see what the fcukers are getting into this week” 🤦🏽‍♀️. I must say, one of the best parts about watching this series is watching the Gallagher kids grow up to adults and of course their shenanigans.

Atlanta: You already know this is on my list for returning shows to watch this year. The first two seasons were absolutely hilarious so I can’t wait to see what they bring for season 3.

Insecure: Hands down one of the best comedy series EVER! My Girls and I can relate to this comedy series on so many levels, let’s be real every awkward black girl in the world can! Every episode and every season was pure comedy. If there is any show from my list that you must watch, it’s definitely Insecure. I’m sad AF that this series has come to an end, but make no mistake about it, this is the perfect comedy series to binge-watch during a girl’s night in.

Big Mouth: I wonder how I would have dealt with puberty if I had this show around while I was growing up! This shit is HILARIOUS! I’m not sure who kills me more in this show, the poor teenagers dealing with the nightmares of puberty or the damn puberty monsters. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Trust me when I tell you, I’m always on the floor in tears when I’m watching this.

Sex and The City: Put aside the ladies’ dope ass wardrobe and this show is pure comedy. Samantha’s slick mouth and sexcapades, Carrie and Charolette on their struggle dates, or Miranda dragging the shit out of poor Steve, I can always count on a good laugh from these ladies. This show is sort of my secret weapon for dealing with breakups 🤣😩 it’s always good to know I’m not the only one dealing with a hectic dating life in NYC.
