My second favorite white man has FINALLY returned. Yes, I said second because no one will ever take the place of John Travolta, NOBODY. God, I love that man! Anyway, I and many many others have been patiently awaiting the return of one of our favorite characters on Power – Mr. Tommy Egan aka I’ll cancel Christmas on yo ass! Listen, ever since his brief appearance in Power Book 2: Ghost, I’ve been counting down to his return in Power Book 4: Force.

Last night was the premiere of Power Book 4: Force and boy they gave us a treat. I loved the overall feel of the show. I felt like I was watching one of those Amazon Prime movies or mini crime docuseries, I really didn’t feel like I was watching a TV show. The show starts off with some flashback scenes of Tommy’s old life while he was driving. All those memories rushing him has him ready to end it all, but he sees a sign for Chicago and decides to go there.
While in Chicago, we learn that Tommy has a few family secrets and we are also introduced to some of the key players in the show. We meet Gloria a cute bartender, the heads of the Flynn Family, and two brothers who are the leaders of Chicago Brothers Incorporated (CBI). I already know that Diamond (leader of CBI), will become a fan favorite of mine. With his sexy self, ugh just look at him. Tommy and Diamond are going to make such an amazing duo (I would say dynamic but Diamond ain’t Ghost OKAY!)

I’m also excited for the return of my man Chibs, sorry I mean Tommy Flanagan who will be playing Walter Flynn. Flanagan was one of my favorite characters on Sons of Anarchy, so I can’t wait to see what he will bring to the table as the head of the Flynn Family. We were also introduced to Watler’s two kids Claudia (Lili Simmons) and Vic (Shane Harper). Who I already see causing Watler and myself plenty of stress this season.
Now, one thing that has been on my mind since we were introduced to the Flynn Family is, will that have some sort of cross-connection with Tommy’s Dad. It would be nice if one of the old-school gangsters in the Flynn Family had some type of run-in with Tommy’s Dad way back in the day.

Anyway, I definitely enjoyed the first episode, I gave it like 7.5 out of 10. The introduction was cool, character development was on point and the drama didn’t really have me on the edge of my seat but was good enough. I’m excited to see what the rest of the season will bring, I know it’s going to be epic.
