GlamGeeks, I have to be honest. If this movie sucked I would have been PISSED, do you hear me? Matt Reeves heard my cries and DELIVERED greatness with The Batman. I must say, the only complaint I had about this movie was that it was too long. Everything else was absolutely amazing. Robert was amazing as Batman, Zoe was stunning as Catwoman, Jeffery Wright is now my favorite version of Jim Gordon, Colin Farrell gave us a brilliant come-back performance with the Penguin and can we talk about Paul Dano as the Riddler. GlamGeeks – I will probably catch hell for this but trust me when I tell you, Paul’s Riddler gave Heath’s Joker a run for his money…OKAY!
I feel like I’ve waited forever to get a Batman film that focused on his journey to becoming the world’s greatest detective and his battle of balancing Bruce Wayne and Batman. I love that elements from some of my favorite graphic novels such as The Long Halloween, Hush, Year One, Zero Year, The Court of Owls, and The War of Jokes & Riddles were included. To tell you the truth, these are storylines that I would not have imagined coming to the big screen anytime soon (or at all). I must say even the soundtrack for the movie was badass. Matt laid some great foundation for sequels to this movie, if done right this will without a doubt be the best Batman trilogy. YES, even outdoing out Nolan’s trilogies – I was never a fan of Bale’s Batman (don’t come for me y’all cause I got time).
Anyway, enough of my rambling make sure you go see The Batman in Theaters. If you are a true Batman fan of his dark thriller detective storylines then you will definitely enjoy this movie. If you’re looking for a movie focusing on Bruce Wayne and his flashy side (*cough cough* Batman V Superman) then this movie isn’t for you.
